There's an entire blog, too. https://blogs.microsoft.com/blog/2026/02/20/asha-sharma-named-evp-and-ceo-microsoft-gaming/
I mean, for someone who spent the past couple of years committing towards AI generally, that is a little suspicious. And I do sense that there may be a possibility that her message was written by Copilot, but that can be for up to debate this time. I don't have much to say since I'm putting the spotlight on her message.
This part was interesting.

I guess that's good? I could probably see a little bit of good here, but I mainly have mixed feelings because of Asha's background and Microsoft's rough recent times, and Asha's zero gaming background.
One former Xbox guy did reach out to her and said this. She responded, too.

Since I have mixed feelings, I'm gonna let this one play out and see how it goes. I would have to say there is a 50/50 chance things are gonna get better or even worse.
As for me, who has big passion for gaming, I was recently getting some taste of modern Xbox because I got Halo, an ROG Xbox controller, but I never owned a modern Xbox console, and I probably won't get one anytime soon because of Microsoft's really bad times recently.
All I have is an Xbox 360 (nearly a 13-year-old console) which is my birthday gift when I turned only 8. I was a little boy, and it was a nice transition from the PS2, but even with the 360, I never had any access to Xbox Live or any internet access with it because all my family cares is me having entertainment from just the games themselves.
My first time having multiplayer experience was just Minecraft on my iPad, which happened nearly 10 years ago.
I'm also starting to believe that CEOs never really gets a true taste of what the community wants.
I mean, for me, I have watched over hundreds of people generally on YouTube and Instagram to analyze what they want or how they feel so that I can get a picture if an idea will go well or wrong. I feel like doing that is a requirement of being a CEO or a leader of basically anything because decisions like increasing prices of all Xbox stuff sparking huge backlash was just way too obvious.
In my eyes, the only way to truly save Xbox is to have excellent exclusives and low Xbox Game Pass prices. But they don't have neither of them, but with the new CEO, let's see how she will play out.
I was also planning to create my own gaming community focused on my first commercial product once it launches in a couple of years, and part of my plan includes communicating with that community like posting polls, asking questions, posting good content, stuff like that.
It'll be a little complicated, but I'll figure it out eventually.
As for Xbox, well, let's see if they contribute with their own community at all... I won't have my hopes up just yet, but let's see it play out.
