His name is Noctem, he’s the head of an active cult based in Apotos called the Children of Gaia hellbent on trying to recreate the events that caused Dark and Light Gaia to be released for years after Unleashed took place.

This also ties Victim #1 into this canon (Yes I know that’s a Mario thing shut up) who I put far more effort into making the story for so I’ll just copy and paste that here

So basically Victim #1 in this universe was a real life victim of the Children of Gaia who was kidnapped, tortured and killed since they were an ex-member who was intending on trying to get their true intentions out. At a later date, the cult would hijack a tv station to broadcast the corpse of said victim on television as a warning to not interfere with their business. The corpse was skinned and had its limbs, teeth, and right eye removed. A photo of the corpse from the hijacking would then be heavily edited and used as a screamer online in-universe, similarly to Jeff the Killer or Momo in the real world.
