Like, didn't you know that this kind of thing happened? That the original creators of the characters you use in your content can also watch it and like it? That they can be just as big fans of fan art as these fans love his work?
But what's so surprising about that? I'll never understand many people on Twitter, Reddit, and TikTok; I don't even use them. (On TikTok, I only upload my own videos, I don't watch the others'.)
But to be fair, many of us can repost things from both our main accounts and others that might not even seem related to us. So yeah, imagine anyone could be looking at what you post, and you wouldn't even know it! And I thought it was obvious just when you're building your first audience, which consists of people you don't know who simply like what you post.
And there's nothing wrong with that, as long as you don't post anything outright brutal (and many fandoms are guilty of that). If it provokes such a violent reaction from people, it only suggests that they realize that much of what they did was wrong...

Although jokes about Toby Fox having lots of social media accounts from which he also watches fan content have been around for a long time. And he's also posted a fair amount of hilarious stuff from his main account, it's his signature move, y'know? So maybe he's trolling everyone this time too, and people fell for it. Who knows?
Also, AUTHORS CAN FOLLOW YOU. FANS OF THESE AUTHORS CAN FOLLOW YOU. PEOPLE ARE EVERYWHERE. BE AFRAID, SOCIOPHOBES.
