Your Two New Enemies, Video Devlogs and Unity Tutorials!

Intro

Are you excited to know the news? Yeah, me too. Let’s dive right into it, but before that, I must tell you something.

You know that I made a list of TODOs last week and that I wanted to go through them ASAP. Well, that didn’t happen. At least, not the way I intended it to be.

You see, when someone makes a TODO list, he doesn’t think that too much’s gonna happen to bother him and hold him back. That’s exactly what happened to me. I thought that I could do everything - and I would if the rest of the world didn’t exist. But since that’s not the case, here I am.

So, enough rambling, let’s take a look into these new enemies.

The New Enemies

Cherry Head

You probably already know him if you follow me in my Twitter. The Cherry Head, a charismatic enemy if you dare, was one of the funniest enemies I ever created. Seriously.

With the look and animations inspired on the old Disney’s TV shows and Super Mario Bros. 3, this enemy keeps wandering around until you get too close. If you do so, he’ll frighten himself in a very… I’d say old Disney cliche way. Then he starts chasing you.

But if he stumbles against any obstacle while he’s chasing you (such as a tree) he’ll fall back. As you can guess, they’re not super smart. They can even stumble against each other at times!

Marshmallows

Those are the persona of The Hive, the game’s first boss’ first stage. They stomp every 5 seconds, creating a shockwave that can damage you.

Don’t worry though, as these are small and don’t deal much damage - only 3 damage points. You’ll probably already have a nice armor by there.

Now, be careful if you’re playing on Insane or Insane +. Instead of only stomping once, they stomp three times per attack!

Did I Mention… That Stomping is Back?

Yep, you heard that right. YOU can now stomp too. Okay, that’s not a new feature, I know. But I did remove it a while ago because it didn’t have any purpose. Also, It did break the game. But now everything got fixed, and I do have a use for it!

Well, if you Stomp an enemy, which is kinda tricky for most of them, you’ll damage them. You’ll earn more points by killing an enemy while Stomping than by killing one with a weapon.

The attack currently takes half of the health of any enemy, even if it had 2000 HP. That’s due to a bug, but I’m not sure if I should keep it or not. Tell me in the poll in my Discord server.

Video Devlogs

I’m gonna try to make videos every Monday showing the week’s progress. I’m not sure if I’m gonna stick to that. We’ll see how well it goes.

Unity Tutorials

It ain’t just for Devlogs that I’ll use YouTube. I’ll release a few tutorials, every once in a while teaching about Unity, C#, Modelling, Art and maybe even Music.

Conclusion

Okay, that was it for this post. Hopefully, you found it interesting. If you did, make sure to hit that like button and to follow me on social media, be it on Twitter, here on Game Jolt, on Facebook or on YouTube. Cheers!

Oh well, it was about time that I added a working Controls tab to the game's pause menu.

I'm trying to finish the planets' configurations, but my game ain't making it easy. As soon as I'm done I'll make a post on the game's page! Meanwhile, enjoy this image of Vulram, a moon in the game.

Shoobies leave a sticky trail of mucus in their wake, which can impede movement for any creature that steps in it.

🍒Did you like the game? A demo is available for free on Steam.

Runestones: from concept to in-game model🗿

Hi everyone! I started to create some environment props for my new video game, here is a cozy house in the forest. I'm planning to switch from Unity to Unreal... Let's see what new challenges I have to face. Made in Blender and Substance Painter.

Rockin the Guitar, an Axe like Guitar I made for my Uni project

blender animation experimentation, getting the hang of things fast. arms, rig, & gun models by me ofc

Some time ago, we posted a screenshot of the Mexico level. A curiosity about it is that, like some other scenarios of the game, it was inspired by a real landscape, The Basaltic Prisms of Santa María Regla. It is one of the natural wonders of the country!
