I'm new to this whole 3d thing and I'm using the D7 engine which I know is outdated but it's easy to use. D7 Engine has shitty layering so is there any way I can improve it or is there any engines I should use instead of D7 that are simple?

why hasn't anyone attempted to build a proper campaign for a game?
