Mega Man, Mega Man X, Terraria, Rayman, and Hollow Knight come to mind. Never played Hollow Knight but the characters and environment looked pretty well suited for an animated show.

#GJAsks Funniest games I've ever played were Mario + Rabbids (first one, haven't played the other 2 yet), Disney Infinity, Mario Kart 8, and Fighting EX Layer
