Check out the latest recap of development on my brand new NES game, Super Sunny World🌞!
This update brings major perf improvements, and 2 new gameplay mechanics! #nesdev

Today I would usually post my weekly "recap" of Super Sunny World, but the last week or so has been entirely dedicated to performance improvements which are hard to show. The game is running MUCH better, but it still struggles with 5+ enemies on screen.

Some pixel art I made for a cutscene. Gameboy development. I'm always impressed with how much detail you can get with limited tiles.

Getting back to working on CRUSH for GB Color. Tile swapping in GB Studio.

Took the swimming gameplay a lot further tonight! Now only runs when in water, works with small and big Sunny, has animated water surface, zeros out gravity when entering water, and allows Sunny to jump out of the water. Super Sunny World is for the NES!

Another week, another progress update video on my new NES game, Super Sunny World! 🌞
This recap introduces a few new moves to Sunny's repertoire, and gives a little glimpse at how levels will be strung together via the level editor.

The projectile power in "Super Sunny World " follows the "tropical" theme. The player collects a magic Oyster which grants Sunny the ability to throw pearls!
What do you think of the palette swap? Is the green too much??

Week 5 working on my new NES game, Super Sunny World, has been a little slow.
The good news is that the soundtrack is now complete and we can spend most of this week's video previewing it! Enjoy!

I'm excited to reveal the title track for my upcoming NES game, Super Sunny World!
This song perfectly captures the bright, sunny, beach vibes of the game, with a hint of mystery+adventure!
I'll share more of the OST in my weekly update video tomorrow!

Check out some of the big features that went in during week 4 of development on our new NES game game, "Super Sunny World".

This "week" stretched a bit long, due to going away on vacation right in the middle for a couple weeks.
