I'll be here answering everyone's inquiries regarding the game or what happened, so if you have any questions, please make a new comment and I'll respond ASAP.
If this got finished it would've been the sickest FNaF game ever, and it's not even made by Scott or Steel Wool!
It's a huge shame Scott didn't approve this, as a FNaF fan, and game developer. I hope Scott changes his mind.
This could have been insane to see, but I kinda see why Scott rejected it: The Fanverse is a very risky idea to had something of this size, and we know that the initiative hasn't been so organized has it seemed.
Now with that said, I do think that this NEEDS a comeback in the future if the Fanverse continues or even get adapted to the games canon.
Please, please, please continue developing this as an original game. This could easily be a hit without the increasingly toxic FNAF licence slapped on. As great as your designs are, I'm sure you can do just as well with original characters.
This is the biggest (in file size terms) fangame I've ever seen
Aftonbuilt was a rejected pitch towards the Fazbear Fanverse.
The downloadable version here was our final pitch to Scott Cawthon, in the works since September 2020 and one where we nearly agreed on admission and funding. After initial positive reception eventually he sadly saw the project as too big of a risk in the months after and decided to not sign us on.
This is considered "pre-alpha" and contains the first 40-ish minutes of the game in an early but finish-able state.
While we are not able to continue this project we learned a lot and look forward to making original titles using our newfound knowledge of big team effort development.
Please be aware if you do play the demo that it was never meant to be released publicly in this stage so bugs are to be expected. One known bug to watch out for is input overlapping with the quicktime events.
Take care using interact and leave some space on quicktimes. Thnx!
Aftonbuilt was a dark new take on the Five Nights at Freddy's franchise.Â
Following the events of FNaF 3, you play as The Mechanic, one of the engineers responsible for the upkeep of the attraction. After saving the main attraction from the blaze you find that the animatronic has been possessed with the spirit of the founder of Freddy Fazbears, William Afton. The Mechanic and Afton team up to continue his work, and build Afton a new body to walk amongst the living yet again.Â
The player is tasked with surviving four of the most harrowing locations in Fazbear history using only their wits, movement, and a set of handmade tools. Using these, the player will have to fight back, striking back against the monsters that hunt them using traps and the environment to corner and scrap them. All the while exploring these locations for the secrets that lay just beneath the surface.
In Aftonbuilt you are tasked with "Scrapping" the main animatronic of each level, in order to do this you are given a set of tools and environmental hazards to use to your advantage.Â
Set up your traps using stealth, parkour and your wits and lure the animatronics to their impending doom, but make no mistake, these are still terrifying machines that will peer through your plans and surprise you when you least expect it!Â
Each level could be completed a multitude of different ways, offering four "level traps" (large finishing blow puzzles) per level and stat tracking for a crazy amount of replay value! Besides the main goal, there are lore clues to find, charms that give your player extra perks and one secret hidden area per map to get the "true ending".Â
Outside of the story there was a planned Freeplay mode!
Freeplay mode was Custom Night on Insert illegal substance allowing you to mix and match any of the eight animatronics on any of the four maps with future post release content expanding this mode of the game multiplicatively.Â
With the content on release would already be looking at over 3000 hours of possible gameplay scenarios and combinations!Â
Set between the events of FNaF3 and FNaF6, you play as "The Mechanic", a good friend of "Phone Dude" and the main person responsible for anything robotics wise to do with Fazbears Fright. After you get a call from your friend about the current fire you're instructed to save "The real one" heading into the blaze to rescue what is unbeknownst to you, the haunted corpse of William Afton.Â
After bringing what was left of his charred remains back to your home base, you try to restart the rabbits systems to run experiments. Only then does it occur to you there is more to him than you ever thought possible. Through a set of compatible hardware, Afton is able to transfer himself to your tablet screen, commanding it to speak and emote for him. He tells you tales of remnant and the idea of an eternal life, or even bringing back those who you've lost. Wowed by his words and unbeknownst of his past, you agree to rebuild Afton by salvaging parts and suits from what remains of Afton Robotics.
Afton sends you to 4 locals from the FNaF universe, where the last active remnant in the world is still hosting a soul. Your job is to scrap the animatronics and collect this remnant to fuel Afton's return.Â
In these locations, the last remainders of Fazbear Entertainment, will you uncover the truth about Afton. His life, his history, his acts and misdeeds as well as his relation to Henry Emily and the start of Fazbear Entertainment.Â
The story is Non-linear and adjusts character dialogue and sequences based on the order you play the levels and find certain lore clues in, adding to replay value and making sure your playthrough is unique.Â
