The best concept of a gaster battle

It's similar to what omega flowy or tenna was

Different yet logical and special

Just did the new patch and i love seeing the false hometown! All the new attacks were also super rad.

Also found the datamining comment. I'll admit I was looking for anything with the one spot at the lakeside, to see if there was an event of the vessel sitting down or something to end the game off on.

How exactly does one reset progress to say, replay the fangame in post terminus? I got the ending where you refuse the deal and I'm stuck on the Systemlog

Genuinely my new favorite take on a Gaster fight. Writing is excellent, attacks are well-designed and look quite nice and uncanny, the setup of how this fight occurs in response to the Weird Route is great, and I love how this interpretation of Weird Route’s possible ending acts as a very neat parallel to UT’s No Mercy Ending. Very fitting. Well done. I got no complaints.

Partake in W.D. Gaster's experiment after the grim ending of your own doing, endure the test and push farther than far, and maybe...just maybe...you won't have to say goodbye?

(This fangame is not canon and does not try to be a perfect prediction of Deltarune's narrative. Events presented here are supposed to be my take on how the weird route's ending might go and how Gaster's boss fight might play out.)

PATCH NOTES:

1.1.0:

-NEW FEATURE: POST-TERMINUS MODE.

Changes EVERY attack pattern to either add a twist, be relentless, or change it completely with some unused ones thrown into the mix, it does not affect stats, only patterns and narrative (alongside the ending). Treat it as a "doing the weird route a second time" kind of scenario, as such, it is advised to play this ONLY after beating the game normally.

It can be found in settings below performance. If you already played the game, press backspace + delete to return to the main menu.

-Removed changing state of phase to phase 2 when pressing "P"

NOTE: I FUCKING KNEEEEW I WOULD LEAVE IN SOME DEBUG TRIGGER! I KNEWWWWW. In my previous game (that Asgore truck one), I left in turn switching with the numpad, but oh well, if you have an old build of the game, you can test it. I'm not sure if it breaks something.

-Moved the second page of the setting (meta, performance post-terminus) 20 pixels to the left.

NOTE: Post terminus went out of frame, so I had to move it all.

-Got rid of two crashes in the intro.

NOTE: Looking back, yeah. Seven in the intro was too much, i cut some dialogue (... BEGONE) and connected one section together.

The intro should be a bit tighter. Hopefully, it makes the intro on first-time playthroughs a bit less annoying.

-Made it easier to trigger the backspace + delete combo

NOTE: Both need to only be held down at the same time, not pressed to trigger the reset, it's there to make it as straightforward as possible.

-Removed hurtbox of all variants of blasters until they fire

NOTE: It made for unfair situations when blasters didn't even appear and you were hit by them. I added a hurtbox back when firing to prevent cheese strats, it should make some attacks overall easier as well.

-Added a failsafe to spewer attack

NOTE: It sometimes simply didn't work. Why? No idea. To combat this, I added a failsafe system that sees if it is activated and, if not, starts the sequence.

-Changed the tint of trees in the vessel ending to be brighter.

NOTE:Consistency.

-Fixed being able to go past the "FAREWELL" line in the ending, resulting in a crash.

NOTE: How did I not catch that? I have NO idea. Shoutout to TyVanBuskirk for finding this.

-Replaced hands in last attack warnings with exclamation marks.

NOTE: People didn't get that this meant "THIS IS WHERE HE WILL FALL FROM" or "THIS IS DANGER" so they often got hit stupidly.

The exclamation mark is more universal and should trigger the reaction that I wanted to.

-Made it so laser fading out actually doesn't hurt you.

NOTE: ??? No idea how that went through the testing. I thought it worked, but oh well, now it actually does.

1.0.1:

-Made it so you can use enter instead of z to navigate menus before battle starts proper

NOTE:Consistency fix.

-Changed line "This contemporary form" into "This temporary form"

NOTE: I don't know why I chose that word. Temporary makes more sense in the context of the fight and sounds less pretentious.

-Added checkpoint between phases 1 and 2 when dying in easy mode.

NOTE: Common suggestion: I felt like adding it to normal mode would have made the fight too easy, as the whole point is endurance, so I'm doing a compromise. In easy mode, you get the checkpoint (and it does NOT affect bullet patterns. You just get more defense).

-Added an in-game option to delete save data.

NOTE: Neither I nor you want to dive into the local folder to be able to change settings, you delete data by pressing the backspace and delete buttons at the same time, i changed tooltip in settings aswell. (this will reset the game to the main menu and works at any point in the game).

-Nerfed handwheel attack (made wheels spawn initially much slower, with each next one decreasing the spawn time of the next until it reaches what it originally was)

NOTE: This was NOT supposed to be the hardest attack. in fact it was for me the easiest one when testing. With so many people struggling here, I made it much easier. When it reaches its original state, you won't have much of it left anyway. it might be too easy now, but it's already very far into fight, so its not THAT big of an deal.

-Nerfed the Double Darkness Injector attack by making it spawn in the middle of either the Y or X axis instead of following the player's position.

NOTE: This one was not AS bad, but many people were unfairly hit because of the X and Y axis tracking, without it, this attack should be much more consistent to learn.

-Added Meta disable setting

NOTE: While good for the story, it can be a pain in the ass for recording, streaming, and someone not wanting to open the game over and over again, aswell as it can cause some bugs on certain devices, Instead of crashing, it will reset itself and will prevent changing window sizes. When unwindowed, the window will still shake and move at certain points.

-Added Phase 2 performance setting:

NOTE: This fight uses some heavy in-engine filters, that's why lower-end devices may have lagged. I allow disabling RGB split one, this disables the ones in phase 2.
