What do you think?

The best concept of a gaster battle

It's similar to what omega flowy or tenna was

Different yet logical and special

Genuinely my new favorite take on a Gaster fight. Writing is excellent, attacks are well-designed and look quite nice and uncanny, the setup of how this fight occurs in response to the Weird Route is great, and I love how this interpretation of Weird Route’s possible ending acts as a very neat parallel to UT’s No Mercy Ending. Very fitting. Well done. I got no complaints.

Got a random suggestion since you’ve started rolling out updates for the game. With the addition of being able to delete the game’s save data in-game via pressing delete and backspace at the same time, is there any chance you would consider possibly adding maybe something extra for players who no hit the fight (outside of the altered ending text), like maybe a special icon, trophy, or something similar added to the chapter select to commemorate the achievement? I just think that little addition could be nice as to further cement completing the challenge. Obviously you don’t have to, but I think the addition could be noice.

I really like the writing and how everything looks, but, if I can be completely honest, I feel like the gameplay of the battle is very lackluster...

I feel like almost every single attack is extremely easy to a fault, with only a few actually erasing 70% of my health bar (the Double DT Extractor from Phase 1 and the Spiral Credits Attack from Phase 2) and I don't know it felt really weird to play through lol

Also, maybe a checkpoint between Phase 1 and Phase 2 would be interesting? (Or even one after the Angel thing) I died right after the angel creation and the thought of having to redo 12 minutes of easy attacks with two confusing/hard ones was a terrible turn-off lol

Besides for the bullet hell, it sounds like an extremely solid Gaster take and I really like how you wrote him!! With the few pieces of Gaster lore we got he feels very faithful and fun to deal with and how big he gets for Phase 2 makes him very imposing. Props for that!!

how to you turn the filter off after already fighting him once.

DEVICE_ENDING (DELTARUNE W.D Gaster Boss fight)

Version: 1.0.11 day ago
logonew.png

"YOU KEEP ON PUSHING?...HOW CURIOUS, A PROPHECY FROZEN IN STATIS, YET YOU SEEK MORE."

Partake in W.D. Gaster's experiment after the grim ending of your own doing, endure the test and push farther than far, and maybe...just maybe...you won't have to say goodbye?

(This fangame is not canon and does not try to be a perfect prediction of Deltarune's narrative. Events presented here are supposed to be my take on how the weird route's ending might go and how Gaster's boss fight might play out.)

Featuring:

-25+ Fully unique bullet patterns

-2 Phases.

-2 Endings.

-A fanmade look into the ending of the weird route.

-Bunch of suprises!

(WARNING: THIS GAME HAS A BUNCH OF FLASHING LIGHTS, STATIC, AND META SHENANIGANS, IF YOU ARE EPILEPTIC, EXERCISE CAUTION.)

(If you wish to wipe your save file, press Backspace and Delete buttons at the same time!)

PATCH NOTES:

1.0.1:

-Made it so you can use enter instead of z to navigate menus before battle starts proper

NOTE:Consistency fix.

-Changed line "This contemporary form" into "This temporary form"

NOTE: I don't know why I chose that word. Temporary makes more sense in the context of the fight and sounds less pretentious.

-Added checkpoint between phases 1 and 2 when dying in easy mode.

NOTE: Common suggestion: I felt like adding it to normal mode would have made the fight too easy, as the whole point is endurance, so I'm doing a compromise. In easy mode, you get the checkpoint (and it does NOT affect bullet patterns. You just get more defense).

-Added an in-game option to delete save data.

NOTE: Neither I nor you want to dive into the local folder to be able to change settings, you delete data by pressing the backspace and delete buttons at the same time, i changed tooltip in settings aswell. (this will reset the game to the main menu and works at any point in the game).

-Nerfed handwheel attack (made wheels spawn initially much slower, with each next one decreasing the spawn time of the next until it reaches what it originally was)

NOTE: This was NOT supposed to be the hardest attack. in fact it was for me the easiest one when testing. With so many people struggling here, I made it much easier. When it reaches its original state, you won't have much of it left anyway. it might be too easy now, but it's already very far into fight, so its not THAT big of an deal.

-Nerfed the Double Darkness Injector attack by making it spawn in the middle of either the Y or X axis instead of following the player's position.

(Gaster blaster)

NOTE: This one was not AS bad, but many people were unfairly hit because of the X and Y axis tracking, without it, this attack should be much more consistent to learn.

-Added Meta disable setting

NOTE: While good for the story, it can be a pain in the ass for recording, streaming, and someone not wanting to open the game over and over again, aswell as it can cause some bugs on certain devices, Instead of crashing, it will reset itself and will prevent changing window sizes. When unwindowed, the window will still shake and move at certain points.

-Added Phase 2 performance setting:

NOTE: This fight uses some heavy in-engine filters, that's why lower-end devices may have lagged. I allow disabling RGB split one, this disables the ones in phase 2.

HOW LONG...HAS IT BEEN?

3 MONTHS OF WAITING.

210 DAYS OF WORK.

AND NOW?

I HAVE SOMETHING...QUITE EXCITING TO SHOW.

PLEASE,

RETURN IN (24) HOURS.

Update 2: (Part Ughhhhh)

and besides game itself i also need to make promo materials like trailer and No-Hit run and that also takes some time.

As a whole? i'd say it is around 85%-ish done. That is unless i randomly add something more for the heck of it.

Update 2: (Part 3)

"HOW MUCH LONGER NOW? YOUR DELTARUNE."

no idea, lol. This is easily the most tedious part of development, vision is starting to become finalized, but this is where my development slows down to a CRAWL.

Update 2 (Part 2):

Audio design is still full of placeholders, i have most of variable dialogue done, Writing wise ending needs to be rewritten and i need to give it all one last pass for making sentences shorter, grammar, flow, etc.

Update 2 (Part 1, bad Character limits):

Most of content is done.

I already have 24 out of 25 attacks, (or 23 out of 24? Haven't counted it) im currently making the final attack.

after that i need to polish phase 2 and also rework two attacks from phase 1
