Not really a game but a collection of episodes from the short lived Earthworm Jim cartoon series! The episodes are very rare and hard to find. Even if there was already a dvd released doesn't mean its easier to find or buy.
Thankfully, Youtube exists! and was shown on Tubi before but no longer available to watch at the moment!
This very rare collection includes a never before seen episode that first aired on kids wb before the actual show started! This makes the very first time ever for fans today can see the episode that started the whole cartoon!
Some facts about this series, it only ran for 2 seasons when the 2nd game Earthworm Jim 2 gained negative reputation when lots of fans would compare the first over the sequel. Despite EWJ2 released in several ports after the Genesis original version, a 3rd game was supposed to release earlier than the day it was out that time! Earthworm Jim 3D was in development since the airing of the cartoon show and was originally meant to be a tie-in but the failure of the cartoon that was caused by the negative reviews of the 2nd game caused delays plus the employees who worked on 3D were new and inexperienced programmers! The entire franchise soon collapsed eventually not because of the cartoon series but the horrible sequel that shouldn't have existed. Also, the cartoon did not live up to the game's original storyline which might be one of the reasons why fans disliked the show later on.
We must all keep in mind that this show was not originally written by the same makers of the game and was being made by the same weird folks from WB during the same time and production as Animaniacs and Freakazoid who were no doubt the same people who worked on this! In fact, it wouldn't be that long until Kids WB finally shut down in 2006 when the whole channel wasn't doing very well that time and most of the shows there end up later moved to the more popular and famous Cartoon Network channel afterwards.
All of this is what made Earthworm Jim a badly long forgotten franchise. Thankfully, it seems that I am the only fan who have better ideas for a better future with anything related to Jim!
I have plans for a few games to begin with. 2 of which are new and improved remakes Earthworm Jim games already released in the mid 90s during and after the cartoon show's run. Plus a Game Boy Color style Earthworm Jim designed to be a new and improved version of Menace To The Galaxy that corrects all the problems from the last game released back then!
Besides the games I want to make soon, theres a full length animated movie I had in mind. While a tv show might be a better idea because more fans enjoyed the cartoon series, a movie is ideal for trying to fit stories that are too long for even a animated series cannot handle especially cartoon shows from United States doesn't follow one story and always jump around different plots with a new villain appearing each episode.
For a Earthworm Jim movie however, it should follow exactly and closely to the original source material from the first video game as accurate as possible for the best possible reviews it can get but there be a very few exceptions from the games and only those changes will be for a good reason to make the plot and story better than the original! Since none of the characters from the sequels ever did appear in the cartoon series including a boss character who only appeared in the special edition of the first game I might bring some (not all) back from the sequels to expand the story of the first game and improve the plot of the sequels for the movie!
In the meantime, enjoy my very first contribution for Earthworm Jim for Game Jolt! Was supposed to be made for a interactive video collection with Clickteam but due to problems trying to make videos work with Clickteam, I have no choice but to upload the videos directly to the archive where a link to the site can be found on the profile of this game! They can be watched directly from the site like how we can watch from Clickteam but its almost the same experience anyway.
To make sure that I am not going to upload this thing as a watch video only game, I am going to include content that we can actually play with to simulate the supposed planned game I wanted for this thing but like I said before, it didn't work for me and the only best way I can make this possible is to link the videos to the archive while the actual game can still be played there but not on the same application.
No download required for the videos but you still need to download the game if you want to play the interactive parts! The videos will not be in the application but the content will be related to what was originally planned for this kind of game as a interactive video collection with games you can play thats included with the collection! The interactive feature for this collection for the videos is a dvd player style where you can watch videos like you normally do with a dvd player but as for the extras there will be mini-games such as quiz games, short platformers, and more!
This will be updated from time to time when its needed if I have anything new to update it with!
