The game looks nice on the screenshots, but I'd suggest a few things:
More consistent pixel size. You seem to be upscaling some sprites, which makes them feel out of place.
More interesting shape for some of the sprites. For example, the spruce trees look a bit bland. You can try adding some extra shape to the three triangles that they consist of, as well as enhance the roots and branches.
I look forward to seeing this game, as I like survival games and it's also similar to my own project, so I could take some inspiration. I also like the soundtrack especially as a GD player.
The intro art is incredible! I can't help but think of Geometry Dash hearing Waterflame's music.
Hold up. The FIRST game you've created in your life? It looks so polished!

"Escape From The Valley" is a pixel art, adventure, survival game with elements of exploration, crafting, building and combat, inspired by titles such as "Stardew Valley" and "Minecraft". The game takes place in a location known as the Lost Souls Valley. Filled with unexplained mysteries, this valley may appear to be an ordinary remote area with lush flora and fauna, but that's not entirely true. The valley's unique geography sets it apart, as it is surrounded on all sides by very steep hills that rise hundreds of meters, making climbing virtually impossible, with the only known way out being by helicopter. But it's not just the geography that's unique, it's the stories and legends of people who have entered the valley and never been found, dead or alive, alone or in teams of five, fully equipped.
You take on the role of a young man who, along with his friends, decides to go for a ride on a beautiful moonlit night, a few miles from the nearest town. Due to the recklessness of the driver, the vehicle careens down a hill and lands directly in the Lost Souls Valley. You wake up unconscious the next morning to find that you are the only survivor, known only to yourself. You must find your way out of a place you know next to nothing about, except for the local legends. Will you survive and find your way home? Will anyone come to your aid? Perhaps along the way you'll discover the secrets of this place... well, adventure awaits. Good luck to you!
The game is a one-person project, and it's the first game I've ever created in my life. Some of the scripts were written by AI (ChatGPT), while I wrote others independently. The graphics are 99% my own work, and the sound design mainly consists of free sounds from websites like freesound.org. The in-game music primarily features old tracks by an artist using the pseudonym Waterflame. The story and the game concept, are entirely my creation. The game is created using the Unity engine. Release date: August 16, 2024
