Estonian Political Simulator
Estonian Political Simulator is a turn based strategy game that puts you in control of an Estonian political party or a custom party made by you. Then you need to fundraise and campaign in order to win seats in the Riigikogu (parliament). When in try to get into a coalition and pass your agenda.
Core Gameplay
In Estonian Political Simulator, you take the role of a party leader in the lead-up to the 2023 Estonian elections (more scenarios will come). The game offers a simple but strategic approach to political management. Your primary goal is to secure as many seats in parliament as possible, manage party finances, and try to pass laws that align with your vision. However, there’s no fixed win condition—the true success is determined by your ability to influence the country’s future and maintain political power.
Features:
Political Landscape: Choose from real Estonian political parties, each with its own politicians and ideology, or create your own party. You can customize the party’s name, leader, its ideology and color.
Election Systems: The game features multiple election systems, including Estonia’s classical proportional system using the D’Hondt method and alternatives like First-Past-The-Post (FPTP) or a Mixed system.
Campaigning: Select region on a map to choose where to campaign. Campaigning costs money, and bigger regions require larger investments. Choose a topic to campaign on or attack rival parties to weaken their support.
Fundraising: Click to fundraise or earn money automatically by passing the 2% threshold in elections. Manage your funds to run efficient campaigns and buy polls to see where you currently stand.
Forming a Government: After elections, the game calculates which parties can form a coalition based on seat distribution and ideological alignment. Player can choose if their party will be in the coalition or not. If vote has failed three times, new elections are called.
Legislation: Players can bring bills to the parliament for voting. Or you can also repeal existing laws.
Dynamic Events: Most actions in the game, not related to the player, are RNG based.
Unique Element:
An Estonian political game: From my research this should be the only game, that focuses on the Estonian political system.
Inspiration:
Inspired by other popular political simulation games like The Political Process, Lawgivers, and Democracy 4.
