THE UNTOLD REALITY
The keys felt heavy and cold as you turned the lock on 428 Blackwood. It was a steal a sprawling house at the edge of the city, bought for a fraction of its value. You told yourself it was luck, but as the door creaked open into the hollow silence of the foyer, the air felt thick, like a held breath.
The Basement
By late evening, the house was a maze of cardboard boxes and shadows. While hauling a crate into the basement, your boot caught on a loose floorboard. It didn't just creak; it snapped. Beneath the wood, tucked into a pocket of dry rot and insulation, sat a single, heavy VHS cassette.
You found an old player in the corner, its power light flickering like a dying pulse. You pushed the tape in.
The screen exploded into a blizzard of high-contrast static. Then, a face appeared-pale, sweating, and looking over its shoulder. The audio was a low-frequency hum that made your teeth ache.
"They’re going to say I’m crazy. Fazbear Entertainment doesn’t just build animatronics; they build vessels. We moved the 'surplus' into the residential foundations. We thought the concrete would keep the metal still. We were wrong. If you found this house, you found a tomb. The scratching you hear at night isn't rats. It's them trying to remember how to breathe."
The tape ended with a screech of twisting iron, followed by a frame of a yellowed mechanical hand reaching for the camera.
The Departure
You stood in the dark basement, the silence now feeling aggressive. Every settling floorboard sounded like a footstep. You checked your watch: 11:15 PM.
The fear was a luxury you couldn't afford. You needed the money. You convinced yourself it was a prank, a viral marketing relic from a defunct era. You grabbed your jacket, locked the basement door-ignoring the faint, rhythmic thump coming from behind the wood-and drove to the facility for your first night on the clock.
The Shift
You sat down in the security office, the smell of ozone and stale grease filling the room. You clicked the monitor on. The camera feed for CAM 0B flickered to life.
It was a basement. Your basement.
On the screen, the floorboard you had stepped on was gone. Something silver and jagged was pulling itself out of the darkness, staring directly into the lens. Then, the office phone rang.
12:00 AM. The shift has begun.
