Ivan is our lord and savior
also, just the game for about an hour or so and got DAMN is it a fun adventure! the plot is well-written, the main 4 party members all have distinct personalities (Crystal for best elf girl) and have great chemistry between each other, the freelancer system is very nicely done and explained in-game with the master stones and with each character having unique outfits for all of the masteries - such a cool and small detail))) i tried out the stones o all characters before finally choosing just to see what cool outfits they'd have, and the way you get the latter through unique and fun encounters is also great!) the game's difficulty is just right, too - it's not too brutal but also not too soft, with battles that make you use your brain and think of cool strategies (got damn me but the Reaper and Orville fights were tough but a lot of fun!) and the game isn't too grindy, either! i was able to do just fine on the bosses in the demo without grinding, at all!) oh, and the npc's are great with their humorous antics - Ekora's guards, the fairies, the shopkeepers (especially the pair with the "free stuff" scene hahaha i literally bursted out laughing at those two) - all of them are very memorable, too!
and while the battlers don't look all THAT good the fact that they're done this way adds to the game's soul, it feels all the more sweet and touching because you drew all of them, even if they don't look fantastic! and besides - the graphics aren't the most important thing in a game, it's the plot and the gameplay that carries it, and i think both of those for Heart of Gaia do marvelously!)
so, yep, i'll continue playing this wonderful and touching game but my first impression from it is already a very good one!) thank you, Schlanvlcore, and take care!
Schlanvlcore, i think you'd want to clear up the audio folder of the game and delete the www one, too - the latter is basically all of the game's files but all over again and the former has most, if not all, of the audio files both in the ogg format and the mpeg-4 format, whereas rpg maker only needs ogg - and the audio folder weights a whopping 1,67 gigabytes because of that! while the size didn't scare me it sure as hell may scare some other players from downloading the demo, especially those that have a bad internet connection.
This is a game I've been making for a while. Strongly inspired by bravely default. I'm in the development stage for part 3. I compressed this demo separately because I just wanted to get something out. The full version will be free as well. Assets used are from rpg maker and my own art. music is from numerous other game sources. #rpg
