SPOILERS FOR MARY'S ARCADE; PLEASE READ AT YOUR OWN DISCRETION
I know that, even if psonday sees my review, he ain't gonna give a shit since it's coming from me, but I just wanted to put my opinion of the game out there.
GAMEPLAY:
1. I love the gameplay loop for Mary and Rascal and the little story behind it. Having them going opposite of each other and you having to use the buzzer and PA system carefully, as to not bring one of the two closer to you, was extremely fun and keeps you one your toes. The whole thing about them being tested out for free-roam and them walking around at night as a practice of sorts was really cool.
2. Scarlet was also very cool and added a bit more variety and panic to the gameplay, as you had to search frantically for her in between Mary and Rascal's attacks on you made the game feel a lot more dynamic and fun.
MUSIC
1. The music for MA is stellar, it has this retro feel to it, but doesn't feel lazy, whatever piece of music is playing at any time, its conveys what it's meant to perfectly
SCARES AND BETWEEN NIGHT CUTSCENES:
On night three, the scripted Mary encounter on the brink of beating the night was ABSOLUTELY horrifying as I one, thought I had fucked up somewhere, and two, the screen going black and just hearing Mary clamber through the office made me cringe to an indescribable degree.
At the end of night five, and one night four by random change (I believe), Mary's Manic, devilish laugh was such a big difference from her voice lines that I had initially thought it was Rascal. Upon someone telling me that is was in fact Mary, the laugh was absolutely mortifying and even more demented than I had initially though
GRAPHICS:
1. MA looks absolutely amazing, and I put this last as it is the least important aspect of this amazing game, but I cannot help but gush over it's looks.
2.I love how dark everything is, dark, glitching cameras, the dirt and grunge around every corner, and more that I won't be going in depth about. Even if the character models for Mary's aren't the modern Showbiz-esque animatronics that the FNaF community is teeming with currently, they are still extremely well made, and are very nice to look at. Not anything specific, mind you, but still.
CONCLUDING THOUGHTS:
Overall, Mary's Arcade is an AMAZING FNaF fangame, and even as a game on it's own. It has amazing gameplay, wonderful scares, and quite a few winks and nudges to other media throughout it. For all the people who have been waiting for a year for this game, there could be no better product to come out of that time.
-Thanks for reading I guess

Mary's Arcade is a FNaF fan game that does not rely on luck or randomness. Instead, you must plan ahead in order to effectively defend yourself.
Be careful though, as sometimes fending off one mascot may bring another closer to you.
"A fangame that separates boys from men" - Kane Carter (seriously)
Mary's Arcade is a passion project I've been working on independently since 2019.
My goal was to make a short, simple FNaF game that wasn't overly dependent on story. I avoided using FNaF mechanics like doors and masks and put my own spin on the ideas I did take to hopefully create a unique FNaF-ey experience.
Only you can be the judge of that, though.
