Well since this is a class project I will go easy on you, first of all use less recognizable music as Mario music makes your game feel like a bootleg. I recommend looking at this site for better game music -

The link chooses a random album, so keep clicking it until you find what you are looking for, though never do this for official games.
Also make it where falling actually kills you, and if you cant, look for spike assets and place them along the bottom. I could say more though I guess it is at least functional, just try not to borrow too many assets.
This Game is a simply Jump and Run Game, updates will be followed. (It's a school project.)
