Penny's Grilled & Fried is more than just a quirky, offbeat horror game it’s a love letter to the creators who showed me that games don’t need massive budgets to be powerful, memorable, or uniquely strange.

A huge part of the inspiration came from Weirdo Speed, a YouTuber known for making bizarre, experimental, and wildly creative indie games. There’s something captivating about the way he blurs the line between humor and horror, glitch and design and that unapologetic weirdness really sparked something in me. I wanted Penny's Grilled & Fried to carry that same unpredictable energy, where players aren’t quite sure what’s real, what’s intentional, and what’s just part of the ride.

At the same time, I was heavily influenced by Scott Cawthon, the creator of Five Nights at Freddy’s. Scott’s journey from making small, humble games to developing one of the most iconic indie horror franchises of all time showed me that a strong concept, a little mystery, and a lot of heart can go a long way. The idea of turning something as innocent as a kid’s restaurant into a terrifying experience stuck with me, and you can definitely feel that DNA in Penny's Grilled & Fried.

Together, these two creators one a master of unpredictable chaos, the other a master of tense atmosphere and lore helped shape the world, tone, and soul of Penny’s Grilled & Fried.
