What do you think?

Is the mod outdated or something? It doesn't seem to work with my own data.win, and yes, I have used the chapter 3 one.

Deltarune Shadow Mantle Hardmode Fight

If you're like me, and you see shadowmantle fight as easy and beginner-friendly, this mod makes this fight worthy of a secret boss.

CHANGES:

  1. GENERAL:

    • Kris's HP is set to 32 (AbsoluteMaxHP).

    • ShadowMantle's HP is set to 64.

    • Some Moderate board UI changes.

    • All paths of Green Room are replaced with the ShadowMantle Board Room path, that's why you're required to use a custom savepoint.

    • Custom Heal effect applied to Kris (the number which wasn't implemented in the original damagewriter object).

    • Buffed Board Kris' damage (0.2 -> 0.4)

    • All bombs and explosives have a 50% to explode diagonally.

    • All heals are buffed (2 -> 4).

    • Removed all nerfs Toby made whenever you lose more to ShadowMantle.

    • Small dialogue changes.

    • Brainwashed Ralsei.

  2. PHASE 1:

    • Lasts from 64 HP to 44 HP.

    • Bomb attack: Amount of bombs per drop doubled (3 -> 6 total).

    • Fire Ring attack: Creates 2 rings instead of 1. Projectiles coming slower from the 2nd ring are illusions (the illusion mechanic would be discussed at 2nd Phase.

    • Changed Pathfinding to switch attacks whenever ShadowMantle gains more than 5 damage.

    • Once Phase 1 ends, 2 candies drop.

  3. PHASE 2:

    • Lasts from 44 HP to 26 HP.

    • Dash attack: Creates 5 clones of itself that move randomly (still Vertical no worries). And targets yourself to your last position.

    • "Friend" attacks: Creates 24 enemies at one, and from each summon it creates a fire ring of 3 illusions and drops a bomb (max 6). Friends at this phase have (1->2 HP). If you do not kill them in time, they give you a penalty by exploding just like bombs.

    • Added an interruption mechanic, where if you do not kill at least 7 "Friend"s and rush for  ShadowMantle to hit it, it would switch to dash attack, leaving you suffer.

    • Oh wait "friend"s no longer drop heals now. Making this a real nightmare for everyone now.

    • At the end of the phase, ShadowMantle drops 3 candies instead of 2 (I am having mercy on you casual players).

  4. PHASE 3:

    • Lasts from 26 HP to 8 HP.

    • Bomb attack:  Total Bomb count Increased(6->8).

    • Fire Ring attack: Creates 2 fire rings, the 2nd one is entirely an illusion now, as each fire ring drops 4 bombs at random intervals.

    • "Friend" attack: Friends have (2 -> 3 HP) now.

    • ShadowMantle Drops 6 candies at the end of the Phase (24 HP heal total, good luck with the final phase).

  5. PHASE 4:

    • Lasts from 8 HP to 0 HP.

    • All explosives spread across 8 directions now.

    • Spiral attack:  Charge is now longer giving you a chance to pick up all heals. and bombs  drop more often now.

    • FINAL ATTACK:

      • Creates 5 clones at once, just like usual.

      • Now instead of making 2 clones per dash, it makes a third clone that moves horizontally (from right to left) and spawns 1-3 "Friend"s that have a shorter life span.

      • If ShadowMantle is under 4 HP, all "Friend"s explode at once, giving you a very easy pattern.

SETUP INSTRUCTIONS:

Below is a ZIP file containing all the assets required for the mod:

  • PATCH.XDELTA: this is the mod itself, make sure to copy your data.win to a safe place, then apply this to it. the data.win you want to patch is the one located at chapter3_windows folder.

  • DeltaPatcher.exe: this is the tool to apply the xdelta patch file, I included it so you wouldn't have much problem, check MysticSlime guide if you have no clue how to use a patcher.

  • filech3_n (n is the saveslot-1, I put in filech3_1 assuming you want 2nd slot, change to preference) : NECESSARY, as I made the mod softlock everything else except ShadowMantle fight, so this is a mandatory file, as I gave it all flags needed to run it, and you cant use the mod with a fresh save of yours.

  • true_nightmare.ogg: the theme I used for ShadowMantle fight, a cheap "Your Best Nightmare" cover, to put it go to "mus" folder in your installation directory. if you don't want it, rename "nightmare_heavy.ogg" to "true_nightmare.ogg"
