Project: Signal Horizon
Game Overview
Signal Horizon is a 2D top-down space survival game. You spawn in a crash pod and small 1 wave of enemies to attack you, mine asteroids, refine ores, and build a powered, oxygenated base before the first wave of enemies arrives to destroy you.
Controls & Movement
Movement: Move your character using WASD or the Arrow Keys.
Aiming & Tools: Your player faces and aims wherever the Mouse Pointer is. Left-clicking uses your active tool or weapon right at the cursor's position.
Inventory: Press I to open your inventory and check your resources.
Radar & Navigation (No Minimap):
Press R to scan nearby asteroids to see what hidden ores they contain.
Press M to spawn a GPS circle/arrow that points directly back to the bases you have built, ensuring you never get lost in deep space.
The Fabricator Tool (Ghost Mode): Equip your Fabricator and open your build menu to project a holographic layout of a floor, door, or machine onto the world grid.
Construction Frames: Instead of instantly appearing, structures now place down as unbuilt Construction Frames (ghost templates).
Welding & Assembly [B]: To permanently build the structure, your player must physically walk up close to the Construction Frame. Once you are within its interaction radius, press the [B] Key to weld, assemble, and fully activate the machine or wall! If you wander too far away, assembly is halted.
Tools & Weapons
Your player is equipped with a versatile multi-tool system controlled entirely by the mouse:
Weapon: Defends against incoming enemy waves.
Drill: Used to mine asteroids for raw materials: Iron, Gold, Copper, Silicon, Silver, Rock, and Ice Ores.
Fabricator: Opens a spatial build menu. If you have the required ingredients in your inventory, it constructs machines directly at your mouse pointer.
Repair: (System update pending — coming in a future build).
