This game definitely looks promising, and you've gone and used the early engine, which works well. Dan The Patient Bear did this for WoS, and the mechanics suit the game well.

Story: Eggman creates a deadly virus known as EXESUME after growing sick of losing to sonic. However this virus is unsuccessfully contained and soon gets loose inside his base. Now its all up to you if the heroes and the world will survive this nightmare or be drowned in darkness and suffering for eternity!
Playable characters: Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Cream, Sally, Metal Sonic(yep hes fully playable)
