Why is tails fly animation a falling animation lol
it's clearly pretty early and a bit unpolished but the movement feels great. being able to spindash jump off of sloped terrain and keep all of your momentum in the air is always nice. the acceleration and slope physics also feel good. there are only a few things that actually bugged me
its a bit weird how you cant spindash beyond a certain point when moving up a slope
it feels a little hard to keep control of the camera since it starts moving any time you press left or right
the homing attack resetting your speed can be a bit jarring, but on the other hand its a nice tool to redirect the character or slow yourself back down if needed
tails seems to be the most unfinished character but im sure the obvious problems will get patched out in due time. other than visuals the tails stage feels a bit too small for the speed tails moves at when flying
sonic felt the best to play other than the previous issues i mentioned. i also like that the base max speed (the max speed you accelerate to when running on flat ground) isn't too horribly fast. it gives you better control over the character so you won't just go flying when you're trying to platform or something. ive seen a lot of adventure styled games make the characters way too fast for the level design but this feels just right. and of course if you DO wanna gain as much speed as possible, you can use the spindash
i also like that the stages are linear but still have a lot of room to move around and experiment, especially with momentum
overall i think if you worked a bit to polish up the level design, animations, and camera controls (i suggest maybe having an option to control where the camera points only using mouse/whatever you're playing with) then you'll be on your way to making a great sonic game.
oh and the options menu is completely broken for me. maybe check it out. also have you guys considered hosting a discord server for the project??
