In The Shadows: Crumbling Ruins is a survival and psychological horror game that tests your limits. Embark into Oakmoss Woods and discover the true horrors of 1971. All resting within George's Pizza Parlor. Go up against deranged machinery out to chew you up and spit you out. And watch your back for the real monster. For he's no deal breaker.
Adventure into the basement of George's Pizza Parlor experiencing the most devious animatronics. Ranging from small to 11 feet tall. And its smile peers down the hall. Here anything is willing to take your life for the sake of his awful name.
Along the way you will find allies. Some will save you, some will abandon you. But in all reality can you trust anyone? Are you really safe or will they turn their back for their own safety? There's only one way to find out.
Don't think you're defenseless though. One of your new allies can craft you things. Scaling from shocking devices to blunt force objects. Scrap is life here. Use it to your advantage.
You may hear the cries of wandering souls. The victims of those destroyed in the nightmare that encompassed 1971 and beyond. Some are good. Some are bad. And some will give you random quests.
Play mini games. Such as Trial Mode. Surviving individual horrors you face in the main game. Unlock specific enemies by encountering them in the main game. Unlock allies who will help you survive the trials by completing their main story lines for Chapter 1. Unlock perks by completing quests for NPC’s and unlocking achievements. Trial Mode can only be unlocked once completing Chapter 1.
You can also go up against the daunting challenge of Shadow Hour. A hardcore version of the main game that deletes your save when you fail. So try not to die because there is no going back. You can unlock Shadow Hour by beating the entirety of Chapter 1 and unlocking every Chapter 1 achievement.
Or try your hand at the Challenge Saga. Completing mini expeditions as the infamous Grayson Hap. An urban explorer who dedicated his life to uncovering the secrets of Oakmoss. Only unlockable once completing all Trial Mode trials. Learn the backstory of Oakmoss Woods and George's Pizza Parlor. Learn about the tragic tale of Hap Industries. And most importantly, make it out alive.
Or attempt the Arcade Gauntlet. Playing 8-bit style mini games to unlock lore. Only unlockable once you complete the 3rd Trial Mode trial.
Along your beaten path you will uncover the truth of what happened. And why you should have never came here in the first place. The Shadows consume all. The evil is never ending. What's left to rot should always be. And when you roam into the uncharted lands of Oakmoss, will you ever be safe again? Will you escape with your life? Or will your soul pay the price?
