UnderMUGEN is an Undertale 2d fighting game using the MUGEN Engine.
There are 39 characters with nearly if not every room in the original game
The characters are created in the same art style as Metal Slug and use the control scheme similar to Smash.
The game supports 1-2 players in both co-op and verses.
There is also two modified files to support additional AI for teams for 3v3 and 4v4
Using Parsec you can play the game with a friend through online rather than local.
I recommend using a wired controller, though you can use a keyboard.
This build will continue to see updates, new characters, etc
If anyone has any experience in Pixel Art and wants to help UnderMUGEN's development please let me know.
I'm a bit slow when making sprite sheets and honestly not a big fan of doing it. Because of this, getting new characters added will be a rather slow process.
However if I had more people on board, updates will be able to come out faster.
Keep in mind, sprite sheets do need to be constructive if using a character as a base for AUs. While it's important to match the art style, simple things like a palette swap wouldn't really add much content to the game. An example of constructive can be things like the difference between normal Sans and Dust Sans or normal Papyrus and Disbelief Papyrus, which both used the originals as a base for the sprite sheet. Outside of that, I would love to see people get on board, letting UnderMUGEN become a community project while becoming the definitive Undertale fighting game.
How to Use:
1: Download the Zip File
2: Extract using 7Zip or Winrar
3: Launch the "UnderMUGEN" Application file
Q&A
Q:Why are the colors off?
A:The colors are dependent on which button you select the character with.
Q:What are the controls?
A:There is a Notepad in the main folder that contains the controls for most characters
If the character has a much different moveset, then there will be a file in the character's folder
Q:Does this MUGEN use anything from Undertale Fighter?
A:No assets have been taken from Undertale Fighters to any extent
Undertale Fighters likely either downloaded it from MUGEN Archives or the Naver Blog and assembled it this way
A majority of assets are either used are either downloaded directly from Gram Parson's Naver Blog or are created by me
