The absolute end of my rope
DISCLAIMER: This is simply a concept at the moment. I'm working on something else. Currently, I plan to only work on this when I finish some other projects.

My take on DUSTTALE + UNDERSWAP (And by extension, Dusttrust I guess). After the anomaly puppeteering the human committed several genocide routes, Papyrus has had terrible nightmares about them, replaying over and over in his mind, until he couldn't take it anymore. He told his good friend about the nightmares, sparking an idea in their head. Soon enough, Papyrus was tortured and manipulated into gaining LOVE of his own to stand a chance against the human, erase them from his world, and create a new timeline where no one has to suffer anymore.
He began his killing spree locally, in Snowdin, and his murders had not gone unnoticed. Emergency and evacuation were declared in the monster kingdom. Knowing he couldn't choose between his brother and his kingdom, Sans decided to confront his brother.
However, the battle could only ever go two ways.
