Undertale Scratch Fangame Engine or USFE is a Scratch Engine designed for making Undertale Fangames in Scratch. #fangameEngine
Undertale By TobyFox
Engine Made by Monelit!
You need an unzip program to extract the RAR contents. Something like WinRAR would do the trick.
Pre-made attacks and functions like Gaster Blasters and Platforms will be made available in the form of Plugin Additions.
You must at least have a high or medium understanding of the Scratch program.
QnA:
Q: Which version should I use?
A: If you plan on making a single battle then I recommend Legacy, otherwise I strongly suggest the current one.
Tips:
Engine Tip01: Whether you're new to the engine or not I suggest changing Enemy Stats and abilities first like KR or Doge, this will set up a base to work off of. Then you can start to move to Attack Making or Changing the Battle Text. (To learn the Battle Engine I recommend using the Legacy Version.)
Engine Tip02: Learn the Text Functions, especially the Wait and Next Line Functions, those are what you will need a majority of the time.
Battle Tip01: Learn how you can use the Attack System to your advantage and learn what the engine can and can't do for the attacks.
Battle Tip02: Looking for attack sprites? I recommend you use Spriters Resource to find them.
Overworld Tip01: Learn how the room layout works and how the Component System works, I strongly recommend you do this.
Overworld Tip02: Utilize the current Global Overworld Variables to easily determine whether to render specific Volumes in the room. (You can forgo this tip if you know what you're doing.)
ID System Tip01: When Making an ID, make sure that all the ID fields are filled even when they're not used. Otherwise, you might wonder where that secondary text for your new item went only to realize a previous item now has that exact secondary text. (Use a blank space with nothing written for text and use a 0 for numbers to indicate a blank space.) For Item and Call Lists use a 1 to symbolise an empty slot.
ID System Tip02: Before trying to make new functions for Item IDs I highly recommend that you set up a basic foundation. (Item Name etc.)
