What do you think?

Hello Pickledtezcat, longtime admirer of your work.

I personally don't find your graphics bad, its the game play and mix you do that makes it so much fun to play. I'll look forward to if and when you update your game. Personally, i secretly wish you could add few more 'Mechs to the game.

I'd be tickled pink see more, including quads or Adding missions, but i'd be happy just the same with fixing some code. Thank You so much for keeping this alive and available.

Amazing game. Glad I found it!
I wonder how incredibly much time it must have taken to get all those mechs in there!

Still playing your game. Why don't you come back to it for a bit and shoot an update of something. Your battletech 2 demo was also very cool.

Blender Battletech

Version: 0.5.0almost 10 years ago
Run the game from the .bat files. Choose the resolution you want. 640x480 is intended, but larger resolutions are supported and look OK. The game was designed to be retro, to capture the feeling of early 1990s CD ROM games. If you want to play in windowed mode replace "-f" with "-w" in the command line. If you want to run the game on a different operating system just find an old version of Blender 2.49b and transfer the .blend to there and run the blender player.

Blender Battletech for Linux

Version: 0.50.0about 1 year ago
After many years, I have finally gotten around to trying to get this to work on Linux. It does work, with a little bit of fiddling. First, you need to install OSSPD: sudo apt-get install osspd Then run the game from the battletech-UNIX.sh file. This should fix the problem of no sound playing. You can edit the file to run in windowed mode, or to have other options. Unlike with windows, if you want the low resolution full-screen mode, you'll have to change the desktop resolution prior to playing.

A game I made about 3 years ago.
Blender battletech is based on the boardgame Battletech, and follows the rules quite closely. It's not a mechwarrior game, so be prepared to be patient.

WASD to move, mouse to look, left mouse button to fire, right mouse to change weapon.
V to turn on night vision.
Space for Jumpjets (if you have any).

Put the reticule over an enemy and wait for it to turn red and when you hear a tone you can fire. If you move weapons are less acurate. If youa re being hit you're likely to lose your lock on. Weapons fired without a lock on are very inacurate. If you are moving you will be more difficult to hit, so stop, fire and move, stop, fire and move.

Around 100 mech variations, 8 planets, several factions and randomly generated missions. Just keep on playing until you die.

Press F1 to call in a limited air support (only once)

If you get past 10,000 points it unlocks advanced weapons and mechs.
