A handy-dandy description of this future virtual dumpster fire

I keep slowly adding to plans for a really cool RPG game. It's all currently in planning, but I really wanted to make a page for it. Info will be changed as it all comes along, so maybe expect some news at some point?

This may take a while as I'm doing everything by myself and besides some old Scratch titles from years ago, I have no idea what I'm doing. When a playable version of this comes out, it will be a proud moment of my life.

While we're here though, here's a few important things of note that I've definitely got nailed down:

-Pixelated art style. This is both due to personal preference and because I physically can't do any other kind.

-The game is akin to the Mario and Luigi series and first two Paper Mario games in terms of gameplay.

-A good bit of focus is going to be put into dialogue. I'm not trying to get a comedian of the year award, but if it's better than what some multi-billion dollar studios are putting out these days (you know EXACTLY who and what I'm referring to) then I've succeeded.

-There are two different adventures depending on which player character you pick at the start of the game, with different characters, different locations, etc. There's also other characters everywhere. It's actually becoming a bit of a problem, to be honest. There's never an available parking spot and some of them live in the public toilets, which I'm sure you can figure out how well that goes.

-There's something beneath the surface

-Easter eggs, references and cameos and all the other cool thingamajigs everywhere! Especially in some areas.

-A bowl of salad (it was my lunch, but I dropped it somewhere without realising. If you find it, could you let me know? I'm still hungry.)

That's pretty much all I've got at the moment, so bye for now.

all-ages

I was originally going to put these up some time ago, but instead I ended up saving them for when I needed something to keep the weekly thing up, so here's an enemy from the first world. These are just really rough drawings made when I had an opportunity.

Oh, boy, it took me almost 3 hours to make the thing move to the right. Already I don't expect this to be done before 2057.

Just to remind people, I have no idea what I'm doing.

I'm learning things :)

i keep trying to work on things but then i end up watching steven universe instead just about every time

i may have a problem

Continuing on the pixel art from the previous update, made some dialogue sprites. The last two might be the protagonist, it's all subject to change. I've also started working on the incredibly important "the game itself" part of the game.

Tried to make pixel art. Given that, again, I have no idea what I'm doing, I think it turned out decently well.

Thinking that a weekly update schedule would probably work. Now that I think about it, the concept is pretty similar to other titles such as Deltarune.

As always, we'll see.

Changed my mind, it's now named Byogenos (buy-oh-jean-ose)

World mechanic might be type matchups. Emphasis on might, it's kinda hard to make logical AND balanced match ups for 5 pre-established groups like that. As with everything else here, we'll see...

I should probably give more information on it, actually, so here's what's written down in the files for it. There's a text limit for posts that this exceeds, though, so here's a pastebin link: pastebin.com/2xLM2GJm

Got a concept for the second world. Tried drawing a map for it, but drawing on a tablet is hard. Especially when the drawing app you use lags for some reason.
