Asteroid mining was a success... until one day, the aliens asleep in them had their slumber rudely disturbed. Perceiving the entirety of humanity as a threat, they have deployed their entire intergalactic army to destroy mankind.
It is up to you, the pilot of their only space fighter jet, to ravage the new threat that opposes mankind. You may not make it back, as their numbers are beyond measure, but earth has hope than you can cave a hole in their army large enough, for earth to stand the oncoming onslaught. Do you accept your mission?
Calamity Overthrow is a shoot-em-up game, putting an emphasis on engaging gameplay, without descending into what is colloquially known as "Bullet Hell", which is a trope of the genre.
The player will be met with unique enemies, with their own strategies, and massive bosses, which will keep them on edge during play. Featuring bonus modes such as Berserk, for those who enjoy bullet hell, and Boss Rush, all players will be able to enjoy this game, regardless of their affinity with the shoot-em-up genre.
Currently in development, no release date has been set yet.
The game will be available on Mac (10.6++) and Windows (XP or greater).
