As a fan of visual novels in general, I really enjoyed this. High marks for atmosphere- I really felt like I was experiencing the story first-hand. I only have a couple suggestions. First, the game did say that it was a kinetic novel, but I suppose it still could have been neat to offer a couple options thrown out there for the player to enjoy. Or even just immerse us more thoroughly by offering more description that, while not changing the story, would add a wee bit more detail to those who enjoyed it. There were a few typos here and there. And, in my personal opinion, I think the real photos didn't work too well with the art assets. It just stood out a bit too much. I think choosing one or the other would have been a better option overall. Other than those suggestions though, I loved it! Very engrossing story- I hope to see more visual novels by you!
Brilliant, mysterious, and moving are hardly words that tap on the surface of the cracked windowpane of the dark world you have shared with us through the dim flashlight luminescent fear driven thriller.
sorry about that but your work is inspired 5/5.
Nice work for a visual novel made in such a short time. The story was good, and kept me interested. The pictures were sometimes irrelevant, but most helped add to the environment. I wish there was more to go on, like a real life news article or some photos or drawings of those "things".
Cool game! Consider adding some pictures to gamejolt? :P I included it in part 4 of my Asylum Jam Compilation video series, if you would like to take a look :) http://youtu.be/s_CEVauFcqE
It had me install a blank notepad file?
Made for #asylumjam 2014, "Castle Hill" is an attempt at making a horror visual novel. We didn't have time to bugfix before publishing, in order to make the deadline, so some errors may occur. We apologize =(
