wow horror games is this game!

wow that was very decent, especially for a quick concept. this looks like you actually spent some time on it. graphics were really nice for the good FPS i was getting. even in the field of tall grass i got 50 fps. if i try something similar in GM i usually get slow downs pretty quickly. however i did notice that the fog was cutting the rendering short, even still seemed like a lot of objects in the screen.

the menu textures were great too. the characters however stuck out really bad, they should look a little darker in such a grim world.

my only real complain was the collision, it's very rough. some smoothing is needed in there, slide against edges and such. overall pretty nice work - still a lot needed though.

An old concept game I made in Game Maker a few years ago. It later was canned in favor of a 3d rpg maker called The Crawl. I doubt I'll revisit this project, but you can check it out if you're interested.

Minimum Game Requirments:
1.5+ GHz Processor
512mb Ram
64(128 recommended)mb nvidia video card

Controls:
-Movement-
'W' or Up Arrow = move forward
'S' or Down Arrow = move backward
'A' or Left Arrow = straff left
'D' or Right Arrow = straff right

-Mouse Movement-
Moving mouse changes your view and direction when stat windows are not in view.
Left button moves you forward
Right button moves you backwards

-Interface-
'P' = Player stat window (mostly complete)
'K' = Skill info window (incomplete)
'I' = Inventory window (mostly complete)
'L' = Log book window (incomplete)
'M' = World Map window (incomplete)
'N' = System window (disabled)
Left click in Inventory Equips/Unequips or uses items.

-Combat-
Left click on...:
'Attack' = Sets attack mode. Then select weak/medium/strong for desired attack(stronger the more damage done and more energy lost)
'Magic' = Sets magic mode, does nothing.
'Run Away' = Instant run (for now)

-General-
'Esc' = quits game
'F9' = take snapshot (bmp file)
'F12' = increase brightness screen

Known Issues:
1) You'll notice that when you first start or first enter new maps there will be a short(depending on your system) delay. This is the height map loading and in most cases will only happen once. I still need to implement a better system but have been focusing on other aspects of the game...

2) Collisions are not perfect or even close to complete. The basics are there, walls are solid, shore lines are crudely blocked off, but certain furniture, lone trees, lamp posts, barrels and pottery are not.
