Derboden

Version: 1.0.0about 12 hours ago

Picture a world where the ground itself refuses to stay quiet.

Derboden begins with a fracture — not just in the earth, but in reality. From that crack, a strange device claws its way into the world, humming with a purpose no one understands. When the protagonist finds it, curiosity wins over caution… and everything changes.

The device doesn’t just grant power. It reshapes identity.

Each new Form the main character unlocks feels less like a tool and more like stepping into a different version of themselves — faster, heavier, sharper, stranger. At first, the transformations are unpredictable, almost wild, like trying to steer a storm with bare hands. But with every encounter, every enemy defeated, the character begins to decode the device’s logic… or perhaps its will.

Enemies aren’t just obstacles; they react, adapt, and sometimes seem to recognize the power you wield better than you do. The deeper you go, the more the question shifts from “How do I use this device?” to “Why was it waiting here at all?”

The floor cracked open for a reason.

And it might not be done yet.

But the deeper the journey sinks beneath the surface, the less the world behaves like something that was ever whole.

Cities tilt at impossible angles. Forests grow in spirals that defy gravity. Entire regions feel… unfinished, like sketches abandoned mid-thought. The crack that birthed the device wasn’t just a rupture in the ground. It was a tear in whatever rules used to hold reality together.

And the device? It starts to change.

New Forms don’t simply unlock anymore. They emerge. Some feel engineered for combat, precise and brutal. Others are unstable, almost sentient, whispering impulses that blur the line between player and power. One Form might let you bend momentum like wet clay, another might fracture your presence into multiple selves for a heartbeat… or longer than you intended.

Not every transformation wants to give you back.

Fragments of something older begin to surface. Symbols etched into the world match patterns inside the device. Enemies grow more deliberate, less like creatures and more like guardians. Some don’t attack at all. They watch. They wait.

As if they’re measuring you.

As if they’re asking a silent question:

Are you becoming the wielder… or the successor?

Because the truth lurking beneath Derboden is heavier than any enemy you’ll face. The device did not arrive by accident. It did not choose randomly.

It rose.

And now that it’s awake, the world is reshaping itself around the one who picked it up.

Whether that’s salvation… or succession… depends on how far you’re willing to go without losing what you started as. #other #adventure #action
