Wind Spirit

A beautiful, casual adventure game with a East Asian female protagonist. Play as Hui, a dancer and descendant of the fantastical Wind Spirits, elegant celestial goddesses that once roamed the lush island Hui has grown up in. The game is set in the picturesque Hainan Island south of China. Explore the wonders of the island as Hui and learn more about her past to unlock her inner power.

Storyline: Hui wakes up in the mountains of southern Hainan and your first mission is to guide her back home to the city of Sanya. Through mystical puzzles, you are guided your way through the sacred and gorgeous landscape and you are met by your mother, Lán, a wind spirit. She tells you that you have begun your journey to find your inner spirit. You summon mystical beings through dance and movement. The storyline and setting include many real-life elements in Hainan such as the massive Buddhist statue of Guanyin of Nanshan in Sanya, and the natural beauty Wuzhi mountain.

Characters:

• Xun Hui (In the Chinese language surnames come before first names, and Hui takes her mother’s surname instead of her father’s) -protagonist, you play as her and control her motion and decisions. She usually wears a dress inspired by both the Ao Dai and the Qipao. Half wind spirit, half human, you will find her mystical powers and inner elemental spirit will be.

• Xun Lán -mother of Hui, a wind spirit goddess and caring soul. (Every wind spirit can control wind, but each has their own unique element). Lán’s element is amethyst gem, and she uses the power of the amethyst to send brilliant purple streaks into the air to signal to Hui or a different character.

• Li Zhong -father of Hui, human and Vietnamese-Chinese tour guide to tourists in Hainan.

• Xun Yazhu -aunt of Hui, sister of Lán, charming yet devious auntie figure who gives Hui potions, jewelry, and gemstones along the way.

• Long -mystical frog who becomes an accomplice of Hui as she crosses a river.

• Nguyễn Yin -matriarch of the wind spirits, has lived forever, meets Hui at the end of her journey.

Note on wind spirits background in the game: Mystical goddesses that control wind and one other unique element that have roamed the skies of northern Vietnam and Hainan, China and surrounding areas. This game blends culture of Vietnam, China, Buddhism, and fantasy lore in one.
