As someone who liked FN, is this game worth your time? Sure. Is it as amazing as anything that FN provides? No, it's, like, an alright experience. Just treat this as a positive review if you want to know whether you should play it, the rest of the review has spoilers.

Let's go more in depth

This seems to be an uncommon opinion, but I really liked Ending C-. It is a perfect representation of what a mental breakdown feels like, I loved the character dvelopment Cream recieved, being broken more and more and gradually becoming crazier. Gameplay wise Brain Freeze was pretty good, albeit, its difficulty is a little based on trial and error. The final fight was a little disappointing, as it was just way too easy. But at least it made up to it in spectacle. I almost wish the fight on Canonical was as it currently is on Vitality, it'd be fitting for a final challenge. The main appeal of C- for me, if this part of the comment didn't make it clear, is the story and Cream's mental struggle. The ending is scarily on point with what being broken psychologically is like.

So, what does this game do to improve C-? It shoves in some character development for Exetior by killing Jina. Character development which FN already gives him, except it's now the main focus and is driven down further through Jina's death. I just don't think this is necessary, Exetior learns the exact same lesson in FN of not going too far with the real victims and he didn't need the death of a close one to realise that. This change puts the more interesting character to the side, wanting you to focus on Exetior, even though his development is substancially less realistic and intriguing than Cream's.

Whatever, so I don't like the story changes. So what's the fight like? Well, it suffers from the same problem as the Cream fight in the original game of being way too easy for a grand finale. But so what? FN is not any better in that regard, right? The fight at least isn't worse... gameplay wise. One thing that made up for how easy the original fight was its spectacle. Cream is insanely fast, attacks you with vissions of her close ones, plays tricks on you and makes you button mash to outpower her. Isn't that just sick? And the music is also absolutely insane, too! You feel a rush of power, the spectacle is immense! What about this fight? Exetior has 3 attacks, all of which are just versions of attacks which we've already seen in actual FN. And the music, while a tad intense, is nowhere near as crazy as the choice in FN. This fight doesn't have any uniqueness to it either anymore, you knew shit was fucked up in the original game if you had to play as EXETIOR. Being able to play as an exe is often reserved for very special moments in these games, it's only fitting. Now it's just another super battle as Cream except she is faster and can shoot arrows.

So, this game has worse story and spectacle and is no improvement in gameplay. Again, this game isn't bad, it's worth your time as an NU fan, but is it strictly an improvement to Ending C-? No, every element is handled a bit worse here than in the original, albeit, still not poorly, just worse.
