Firelands VR

Made for Adeventure jam 2017 (unregistered entry) in an effort to try adventure games in VR since it seems they go very well together. And then scope caught up with me and NPCs + the rest of the building was cut.

Controls:
Firelands VR is designed for a virtual reality device (Vive tested) with motion controllers but keyboard+mouse is also supported.

Motion controller trigger button = grab

left click = grab
hold right click + wasd and mouse to rotate object.
left shift = crouch

Story:
You are a fire spirit created by humans. Fire society was given a carve out of land deep underground where all of the humans' trash is thrown. The fire people have since set up an administrative structure and ecosystem based around doing the bidding of the humans. A carbon centric biome was created where the fire spirits burn things to survive and convert the CO2 into vegetation and diamonds to send back up to the human overlords.
You have confined by the overseer class your entire life and now you decide to see what is out there in the world.

Room Lore:
Each resisdent is provided 1 cup of oil and one stick of wood for each day of work.
Trees are culturally important to the fire dwellers as a symbol of achieving a balanced environment in the underground.
Objects within the residential unit have measures to protect against accidental burning as this is a common problem.
The biome created by society is inspiring, but the work must get done.
This building is where objects from the land above are collected for processing.
