flower of hope is canceled for the foreseeable future.
This game has been extremely directionless for the past few months after i scrapped the original plot which i had grown out of, and hated the inspiration that influenced it.
But for now flower of hope will not receive any news or have any content shared.
The game was canceled for a few reasons but just two big issues are why i decided this:
the games engine (Turbo warp) wouldn't work for a rpg/jrpg like this, because you need to save data in a jrpg (or make a 5 minute long game).
I really really like making j-rpg-ish games but sadly i cannot figure this one out.
i am bypassing this in games like ZH by having a new project file for each chapter
but ZH is more story then gameplay
so a game like "flower of hope" wouldn't work without saving,
And you cant carry data from one file to another like that because they are considered different games,
And i don't wanna type in every single number in for a code/number-based save system,
plus you'd need like 500 different codes.
maybe it would've been possible on scratch with could variables
but this game (if ever finished) would be to large to fit onto a scratch project (plus i am not a fan of scratch right now for many reasons)
believe me i would know,
i am making ZH.
And the other reason is that the plot is just nothing,
I've tried to make something with it
but nope,
i couldn't.
I refuse to use A.I to write my story's for me.
I know all my currently released game don't show it but i have a big passion for storytelling,
and the only other game i really have to write for is "ZOMBIE HUNTERS" which has been my passion project for years.
Forgive me but hold hope that maybe one day ill get a new engine and make flower of hope again one day.
The very little plans i had for this game are very different from the stuff i posted on scratch back in the day (like June 2024 which is genuinely crazy).
I remember making music for this game because i wanted the ost to be original.
The track titled "FIGHT!" in the ZH ost is actually the battle song from this game with new effects and instruments,
don't worry,
the song isn't very good,
but its good enough.
