This is what happens when an inside joke gets turned into a game...

...and then that very game is retold under a new light.

Sonic and Mario's Party Place (SMPP for short) opened its doors on a town in 2014, holding strong in 2015 thanks to its novel feature of clones as performers. These clones are shaped after popular characters from the worlds of Sonic and Mario, all the while establishing their own identities. Lately however, bad luck has hit the town. SMPP's Clone Luigi has defected from his occupation for reasons unknown, but was given the freedom to live independently. At the same time, a string of murders is growing alongside sightings of an urban legend stalking the town. SMPP and the town are both in trouble, sparking Clone Luigi the idea to become a detective, ready to uncover what's going in his first case.

That's where you come in, a local aware of these recent events, sensing something deeper is up. After being hired as SMPP's night watch, you soon learn the other clones are aggressive at midnight. The following day, you are recruited as Clone Luigi's assistant, working together to uncover why his fellow clones ended up that way. It's at this point where you handle two responsibilities: searching for the source of all these bad events by day, and fighting for survival against the clones by night.

Will Clone Luigi's first case as a detective uncover everything? What is the fate of SMPP and its clones? Could the string of murders somehow be connected to what's happening to SMPP? All of these questions and more will be answered by your survival...

Five Nights at Sonic's: Greenlit is an alternate universe of the titular Five Nights at Freddy's fangame series. It aims to retell FNaS in a more modernized, grounded light through a one-off story. The cast, setting, and narrative are all reimagined to reflect this philosophy.

You'll be able to immerse yourself in the story, assisting Clone Luigi with his detective work by day, and surviving against the clones by night. The mysteries fueling Clone Luigi's detective work deepen by the day, and the clones will learn and adapt to their surroundings as each night passes.
