Beated it at third try, though I guess I would lose interest if I didn't win at the last try. And I was surprised that stupid method of "eh, I made the choices I would actually make if I was trying to make it through an interview and I didn't get the job? Okay, let's try again and choose a completly different answer to each question" worked for me :) Anyway, that's a well done job for a jam, especially with the art and the point of the game. And thanks for making me question the answers I would give if the interview was real, lol.
@Taylor Yeah, a few people have said this to me (different reactions based on gender), but I really wanted to avoid that. I don't have the right kind of experience with sexism required to make those reactions meaningful (ie, I'm not a woman, and have never had that kind of sexism thrust directly at me). I also wanted to set up a situation where you could go through the interview as either character, answer the questions exactly the same, and still get the job. The point I was trying to make was definitely about salary.
I was kind of expecting different reactions to the answers based on the character's gender. But after making it to the end, I see how that might actually take away from what you were trying to say. The boss might not be openly sexist, but there's still some issues at stake.
You really captured how dumb and stressful interviews can be, and I liked that the first question you could "fail" (as far as I can see anyway) was the nonsensical one about what animal you would be.
I really hate job interviews.
Sadly, I didnt get the job :( I included it in part 1 of my Gender Jam compilation video series, if you'd like to take a look :) http://youtu.be/V88ZvIG4zl0
