Inverted Fate: Interactive Chapter Pack

This project is a collection of interactive chapters from the Undertale AU webcomic and multimedia project, Inverted Fate! While not a full game adaptation of the comic, we intend to provide several smaller interactive segments from throughout the story, including boss fights, overworld, and even Prime Time Turnabout at a later date!

This demo is designed to be accessible for both longtime fans and newcomers, as the two segments included in the demo feature chapters from earlier in the comic, without some of the more heavy-hitting spoilers.

About the Project

Our goal with this project is to bring over all the previously playable Inverted Fate segments in a brand new engine, created by Philiplol in Game Maker Studio! In addition to porting over the previous scratch projects, each chapter includes brand new challenges to discover! Additionally, there is some minor menu and overworld interactivity, with further expansions planned in future updates!

Q: How is this different from Underswap?

A: Inverted Fate is a long running webcomic and animated series that takes place after a failed Pacifist run where Asriel won in the final boss battle, but lost control of his powers, resulting in a new reality. Flowey and Chara retain full memories of the old world, while Frisk only has vague deja-vu, and rather than repeat his old schtick, Flowey pretends to be friendly this time around, as it seems a more useful way to explore this new world and regain his lost power.

This is part of a much larger story, and we highly recommend reading the webcomic!

Q: What chapters are included in the demo?

Right now, we have the Asgore and Alphys fight, each with multiple endings and bonus challenges to enjoy!

Q: Will the Sans fight be included?

Yes! Our current plan is to finish porting the existing fights and Prime Time Turnabout. Once that's done, we hope to finally revive the Sans project, along with revisiting older project ideas, such as Dohj, and new segments from the Rift arc.

Q: Which endings are canon?

We have unique labels for the canon and noncanon endings! In general, the noncanon endings are fun bonuses to explore other outcomes not explored in the comic.

Q: What is Frisk's gender?

They are strictly nonbinary in this AU and use they/them pronouns, along with Napstablook and Chara.
