Welcome to Mario's Dream 3 + Birdo Quests.
Mario's Dream was a series of point-and-click survival horror games based on the Mario franchise that I started back in 2019 and ended in 2020. Six years later, the series is finally returning with a fresh coat of paint!
Features:
Hand-drawn graphics.
Multiple levels across both games, with varying locations and objectives. Some return from previous entries.
Multiple twisted enemies unique to each level. Some return from previous entries.
Cutscenes with improved character dialogue.
More challenging variations of levels available in both games after completing their stories.
Unlockable Achievements and an Extras menu.
Mechanics inspired by several Mario games, such as Super Mario Bros 2.
Synopsis
After awaking to find himself trapped inside a world within his dreams, Mario must find a way to escape the nightmare with help from his friend Starlow. Becoming unlikely allies with Mimi, she'll help the heroes track down the one responsible for everything, but can she be trusted? Take down warped versions of familiar friends and foes using a new way of attacking thanks to Starlow, and find a way to escape to the real world.
Mario's Dream 3 is not planned to be as long as the second entry of the series, but definitely a bit longer than the first. This game will hopefully breathe new life into the concept with new mechanics and freakier monsters. Despite the short length, it should still be a fun ride!
Birdo finds herself in what appears to be a cult that worships her. They've been awaiting the day of her arrival as she is the only one who can take down their previous figure of devotion. Go through several twisted levels as Birdo, who offers a slightly different playstyle, as you track down a new threat in the dream world.
Birdo Quests was a planned mode for the second entry that was never finished, but it will thankfully be returning here. I'm very excited about this one because of the fun ideas I got for it. And also, Birdo is my favorite character ever, so giving her what is essentially her own game is a lot of fun!
