A fledgling owl was captured from her nest in the wild to become a pet to a wealthy family. While being the family pet, the young owl had her wings clipped because, "She's part of the family, we don't want her flying away, and getting lost." They decided to call her Owluette.
Years later an incident occurred and Owluette, scared by a sudden loud noise, accidentally scratched one of the owners children. Due to this they got her talons removed because, "She's just a pet, we don't want her to harm us worse than this." The owners are under the impression they are helping this Owl live her best life, since, "She is a pygmy, there's no way she would survive in the wild." However, being declawed Owluette endures a sharp pain with every step she takes and because she can not fly, she has to walk everywhere. This is why she escapes, running away to find ways to protect herself from further cruelty and hopefully to find her true home .
Though she can not fly Owluette can glide off of anything taller than herself. She runs and walks with grace to hide her pain from others around her. Owluette does not want pity, she only desires a way to defend herself. Along her journey she'll run into friendly Neighbors that allow her to rest-up in their homes. Unfortunately there are those who see Owluette as a waste of resources, the Disgruntled try to chase Owluette off and discourage her from continuing her quest. Owluette will have to hide and avoid the Disgruntled to keep her HOPE intact and rejuvenate at homes of her friends.
