I played through the whole thing alongside the other two games, This first one definitely has it's flaws and a lack of quality but it also has it's charms and I do think it greatly improves overtime in the next games (especially 3!)

You can't find anything causing it but you kept going deeper and deeper for the darkness. Something always conflicts the camera so you already know it's being caused but by what.
