Do you know what it’s like to hate yourself? To wake up every morning knowing you’re the reason two loving parents don’t get to see their little girl grow up? Her first day of high school, her first dance, her first kiss, gone in an instant.

Her name was Ashley, and she’s dead now. All because I wanted to try and make it to my dead-end job on time. I hear her name, see her face, everywhere I go I can’t escape it.

Story

In Penitence, you play as Henry Stovall, a man stricken with remorse after crashing his car on the way to work and killing a young girl. Nightmares consume Henry's sleep until he finds himself waking up in one.

About the Developer

I am a single college student working to create this experience who has a huge passion for horror. The Unity engine has gotten a bad rap thanks to the mass amount of "horror" games that throw repeated jumps scares at the player instead of building tension and creating truly terrifying moments. I plan to do my part to bring a sense of true horror to the player. I've attempted to make a horror game before, but was never able to finish it due to some issues I personally had with the plot of the game.

I am beginning to work with some very talented voice actors to put life behind all of the characters you meet. I do not have an exact anticipated release date at this time for the game, but I plan to release it before the end of the year for sure.
