What do you think?

kinda have 1 problem with this and is that even if you download a binary for 0.6 so that you can play the mod, the binary copies the saved data from the version of supertux you always use

The first release of PepperTux, after all this time...

Game Soundtrack

Arctic Darkness (Song by AnatolyStev) (Includes a reference to "Clavelian March" from SuperTux)

Nolok captures Penny, but this time, the levels are different, and it's kind of nostalgic.

How To Install

Just download and use the run_peppertux_portable.bat file to run the game in a portable way. I don't know what SuperTux does there but you avoid save file issues with this method.

If you found any issues, report the issues to the GitHub Issues page for this repository, or the comments of the GameJolt page of PepperTux.

Story

The same story as SuperTux, basically, Tux goes to a picnic with Penny, but Nolok attacks and captures Penny, leaving just a note telling Tux that he doesn't stand a chance at getting Penny back, so Tux goes forward to Nolok's Icy Island castle, hoping that Nolok and Penny would be there.

The Purpose Of This

PepperTux is meant to be like SuperTux 0.6.3 with some 0.7.0 things. It's a mod for SuperTux 0.7.0

There's really no purpose, just here for fun.

This isn't meant to be "finished SuperTux before SuperTux Team does it", although it is kind of that (to be honest, by the time Tropical Island or Snow Mountain is finished in this, SuperTux will likely already have one or two of those (Tropical Paradise / Mountain Peaks)), it's meant to be a fun little "what if" question, like what if old SuperTux had the new worlds and even a Desert world? (Secret Desert, as it's a secret world)

Also, the worldmaps are different now.

The levels are also replaced with new ones.

Source Code

This is a mod of SuperTux v0.7.0 that edits the source code... or at least it will at some point, just not really now since there's no need to. Yes, sector_parser and various badguys have sprite files changed, but that's not really that noticeable in-game.

https://gamejolt.com/p/also-to-make-it-clear-what-would-happen-i… And another thing to make it clear, even if the Milestone 1 option is the most voted, there will still be certain SuperTux Milestone 2 features.

Also, to make it clear what would happen if the previous post's poll reaches either side, read the article content of this post.

Should PepperTux be more like SuperTux Milestone 1 or should it be more like SuperTux 0.3.3 to 0.5.1?

Just added the fix for coins and the script for the Bonus Block to the repository!

Just fixed coins, the fix will be added to the repository soon.

https://gamejolt.com/p/currently-considering-going-back-to-using… Actually, that would get rid of slopes because HaxeFlixel doesn't seem to allow slopes to be made easily, so I won't do that. But I'll try fix the coin problem later.

Currently considering going back to using HaxeFlixel instead of Godot, because it seems HaxeFlixel is easier. There seems to be a bug with the Godot version that I can't seem to fix where the AnimationPlayer node in the coin doesn't play the animations.

I'm not actually sure why I added the tiles for the future worlds, but the main ones are in the game now, along with a few extra ones.

I used the big castle background block tiles for whatever this is (an idea that will probably be repurposed for Nolok's Castle in PepperTux) (This is also in the test level, but not added yet to the repository)

Snow Mountain tiles test with the Blue Mountains background (and decorations using the snow background tiles)

That should be basically every main tileset of each world added (Snow Mountain uses the tiles from the tiles/snowmountain folder from SuperTux)
