i love it but it need more quality.
Pretty cool, but too short =P
needs to be a little harder :P
The concept of retired, rejected, and forgotten video game characters, drew me in!
I am loving the simple world that is created, it is easy on the eyes. Although the main enemies look like pacman ghosts, the other characters in the game are pretty unique (other than the obvious parody characters). Not too big a fan of the game maker default text boxes since it pauses the game and ruins the flow.
When first introduced to the main enemies, I didn't care for them taking more than one hit before going โpoofโ. I found myself just running past them to get to the end since it felt more like work rather than a satisfying kill. If an enemy is to take a few more hits, using a kill animation other than a rendered poof would be more appealing.
It would be great to have at least an indication of how many hits i can take before I die. And when I die, not to have the game straight up end. I restart the level when I fall to my death, but not when I get shot by fire.
With the sonic parody, I just ran right past him since there was no penalty. I would suggest having the flag get created only after the sonic parody has been killed so that even if the player chooses to run past, it will do nothing. After getting the speed power I used it to reach the flag on the next level, but couldn't pick it up so I figured that was the end of the game.
Pros:
Good Concept
Simple Backgrounds and Platforms
Humour
Cons:
Game Maker Default Text Boxes
No Health Indication
Dying by enemy closes the game
I don't feel the need to kill the enemies
