Promised Place - The Town of Somber Love and Repose
Promised Place is a surrealist mystery horror visual novel, set in the fictional town of Oak River.
On September 16, 1996, Cerin goes back to his hometown to finally meet his beloved childhood love Maya Renard in their promised place at the Oak Treeside. However, there was no Maya found. Later, Cerin investigates what happened and wonders why the town and the police investigation towards Maya's case seems to be a lost cause and the town conspires on hiding it.
As Cerin investigates the truth, different incidents happen, which now leads to the mystery of Oak River, the town of somber love and repose.
This game is a sequel of A Walk in the Silent Street.
CHARACTERS
Cerin Orwell - A psychology college student who goes back to the town of Oak River to meet his childhood love.
Maya Renard - The childhood friend and love interest of Cerin Orwell.
George Lubbock - A retired police officer who was investigating the missing persons case.
Father Marcus Costner - The parish priest of Oak River.
Rowan Howard - An esoteric researcher and practitioner who believes in a lot of supernatural events.
Vienna Shue - The closest friend of Maya from their Theatrical Arts days.
Clara Rubens - A very beautiful friend of Maya from the Theatrical Arts days. She is an avid follower of Rowan.
Chester Eckhart - The owner of a local theater and a big fan of old cinema reels and a collector of 3mm video tapes.
