What do you think?

What happens if two people give you two different edits to the same version? Would it be combined?

where images about this game?

i love norman

wait so is this project closed or not?

As of 3/15/2022, submissions for Recursive are closed. This page will be updated with screenshots from different versions soon. Thanks to all who participated. If you would like to see a similar project in the future, please comment on the latest announcement at the bottom of the page.

IMPORTANT:
LISA: The Recursive is an experiment to see what a community can do with a blank canvas. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to modify this game in any way you see fit. Your changes will then be permanently added amongst everyone else's.

Any change is acceptable, big or small, even if it makes the game unplayable.

When you finish your edits, send them to me on discord at video games#9922. Send the entire game as a compressed file.

By the nature of how this game works, there will be content missing from certain releases from people working at the same time. All the previous versions will be archived if you feel like curating the perfect Recursive experience.

If you don't want to edit this game, don't bother downloading, as it is incredibly barren.

Obviously, everything in this game is opensource and free for anybody to use. Don't put anything in this game that you'll miss.

Due to mild interest in this project, I have set up a discord server to determine its future. https://discord.gg/9akQPqS9dE

Given that there are now near month-long gaps between submissions, this project will soon be archived.

I had an idea for a more organized system for an opensource fangame. If anyone is interested in this, please let me know.

It has been 5 days since the last edit. If there are no submissions within 30 days of the last, I will close the project.

Due to some extreme incompetence on my part, the download for 0.5.0 accidentally contained 0.2.2. Sorry to Garhenslair and the other editors.

Also, this page is probably the most reliable method you have for communicating with other editors. Just saying.
