oooON
fuck yes im awaiting for your arrival, game
I can’t believe Reddy said the fuck word I’m shaking in my quaking
Would the final fight be against Satan or, perhaps if certain conditions are met, Desk Fan and co?
Also u better fix the mistake of not having Rainbow Reddy in this one (Final Form Reddy original much).
Completed the game today and despite it being a spin off, it was overall way shorter than I expected it to be.
I quite like how whenever you beat a boss, you get plenty of tokens to resupply your item inventory if need be. Really helps avoid grinding. Similarly it was pleasant how before every boss, you get access to the party menu so you can fully heal up, change gear & even save.
A major personal gripe I have though is how bosses are quite tedious to fight, simply due to a combination of how unoptimized your party's skillsets are for it and how incredibly resistant if not flat out immune bosses are to all kinds of status effects, despite them not showing any resistances or weaknesses in the Shift menu.
Reddy is overall the most solid character, he should be as the "leader" of the gang but until you get the Distorted Microphone, his damage output is rather unimpressive. Do note that I played the game on Hard, so I do not know how much of an issue this is on Normal.
Even when his damage output gets a significant boost, I found myself generally using only 3 skills at most. Those being his Tophat Toss, Katana Slash and Myriad Bomb because all the rest is either too low damage, too situational or too unreliable.
Speaking of unreliable, the move "Unoriginality" has this weird side effect where it cancels out your second turn once you have the Distorted Mic, unless you specifically use it on your second turn and not the first.
Geddy is pretty much the MVP alongside Reddy because he can boost up the latter's ATK, give your whole party a DEF buff and above all, his Vomit special is key to beating bosses with significant passive damage over time.
Yeddy is kinda like Reddy but MUCH more limited with his moves. In fact the only useful one is his AoE which can inflict Bleeding which is reliable on normal foes but not at all on Bosses which is a real shame. On a related note, his priority kick move which supposedly always goes first, does NOT have priority when wielded by Empowered Reddy.
Beddy is the supporter of the group alongside Geddy but the fact all of his buff skills have like a 5 turn cooldown, heavily reduces his utility in battle. This coupled with bosses being so immune to Status effects sadly turns him into a glorified meatshield/item healer.
Shadow Freddy's Black Market unfortunately never updates his stock beyond what he initially offers throughout the entire game. And with what he DOES offer, the Discount Core is so clearly superior to the other two in terms of pros and cons, it's "not even funny". In fact it might even be required to use it because of how relatively high the base MP costs are of your party's skills.
Enragement Bear has the option of "specials" but he always said "no" whenever I chose it, regardless of my progression in the game so, what gives?
Similarly, what's the purpose of "The Box" you can enter? Kinda a shame there is no bonus boss at any time compared to the Purple Hall and Black Market.
Personally I wouldn't mind seeing Enragement Bear offer some Lollipops too. Not only because you'll easily be drowning in tokens at one point, but also because I had some close calls with bosses who outspeed me and have powerful AoE attacks, primary example being Gordon's "Flame Fryer" or whatever it's called in the database.
Another thing to note is that in the final battle, whenever you get a quiz question right, it actively skips Reddy's turn. Is this intentional? Additionally, when you get it wrong, Joker's pillars of fire do Null damage to the entire party. His later form's Bone Gun also has the same effect on Empowered Reddy.
Lasty, I suppose this is the case, but George is literally impossible to beat, right? Whenever he Screams at random, it one shots you and he has WAY too much HP to beat with Reddy Solo.
All in all, a nice time waster for a weekend with some minor flaws. Judging by things like how Purple Freddy escapes and the post credit scene, do you guys have another FNaFb game in store for the future?
