R1VEN is a non-traditional yume nikki-inspired game, where the player goes to sleep, fights enemies and collects "Dream Cores" but its optional and leads to multiple routes. Combat is a major part of the game with Riven encountering multiple enemies through the game and bosses. Each world features sub-locations and areas but the demo does not feature any effects.

Your name is Riven, and you have been stuck in your dream world named "Mindscape" for a while now. Real life only sounds like an intermission between dreams to you.
