Snakes N-Gage

Snakes.

It's a port of the mobile / N-Gage game "Snakes", a reimagening of the evergreen "Snake" game.

-Main Game-

Unlike the classic Snake, this version has a blue bar that has to emptied in a time limit to complete the levels. This can happen collecting energy (green hexagons) or the blue squares. MOVE ONLY WITH LEFT/RIGHT ARROW KEYS. Mobile compatible.

-Port Characteristics-

This port tries to look as close as possible to the original; however there are technical limitations: 2D bird's-eye mode only (as opposed to the original option to also have 3D), only the first 6 levels (out of 36) (so no hex mode, no slow/fast tiles, no flip-over levels). Also this is only a beta so the attention was on major elements of the game only, so no lives system or power-up system even if they would not be hard to code, there are some placeholder graphics)

Also the snake is slower than the original version, so the timer on some levels was adjusted.

However the design for the first five levels is very close to the the original, the sixth level is a bit different.

This is because, unlike other games (Super Mario Bros. series, ...), this game has no level maps online, so they were remade by hand from playing the original game.

Unlike Super Mario World Beta, the code this time is fully original.
