Alright, so after the huge support I got on my first critic, here's the second one.. for the first game!
Just like Somnus 2 and the previous TFBTN pages this page has been reuploaded multiple times to gain more money and exposure, after the majority of the "fanbase" has noticed this behavior they stopped rating this game at all or even rated it negatively which resulted in the developer stopping with it.
Screenshots/Teasers
Once again the teasers look effortless , this time, being taken from the start menu, rather than from showcase renders! This goes for all animatronics except Foxy, who seems to be taken right from the extra menu. They have been cut out really horribly too which leads to white lines around them on closer inspection. No backgrounds, no messages, no additional props, no effort.
The picture showing of the office is not an in-game screenshot but rather just the plain texture, once again, barely any effort. Since it looks like a FNaF 3 styled office with animatronics walking by, the background also seems to be missing.
The caption "Gameplay Image #1" gave me a good chuckle though.
The menu screenshot looks, fine I guess, it doesn't really fit any "horror" theme but well, at least it's kind of original.
Models
This time the models were all made by the same person, that's at least something. Other than that the models look standard, I personally don't like them but eh. The proportions are really bad and the hands are way too big, the models are literally all recoloured versions of Freddy (I can't say that it is Freddy for sure but they are definitely recoloured versions of each other) with slight edits, which is extremely cheap. They have no withering at all and look extremely bland. Their chests are flat and have no depth, neither do their arms and legs , they are literally made of paper. Once again, the materials look good though (except the fact that parts of Chica's endoskeleton are yellow). Pretty clichéd nightmare styled animatronics without withering, but eh, still, they're acceptable.
The office.. Well. It just uses plain image textures and no bumpmaps or even glossiness maps. Most props don't really fit a pizzeria theme and there are some "stolen" or at least pretty inspired props, like for example the origiami figurine taken right from the FNaC 3 teaser (Note: I am not accusing him of stealing, I am just listing the possibility of it being either stolen or heavily inspired.) Some texture errors here and there but acceptable (hey, even Scott has those).
DescriptionI doubt that the game is 90% done.
Once again, horrible formating, with a completly unnecessary list that looks horrible and lists the credits.. twice? And why does it say "warning" in the first place?
clichéd anti bullying message
That's about it, I guess, hard to overview, needs a lot of work.
Story
Story is extremely clichéd again, animatronics haunted by the murdered kids, an almost ancient FFP location etc.
Doesn't really make sense either, why would you stay there for 5 nights if your life was at risk? Also, why would a kid-friendly FFP location feature scary looking animatronics with sharp teeth? That makes no sense! Despite the fact that "left to rot" animatronics normally show at least a tiny bit of withering.
Trailer
Probably the worst thing about the game, the animations are horrible they are way too fast, look low effort and I could make something better in less than 5 minutes. The grain hurts my eyes and the glitching lightning doesn't help. There is not even music and the "falling over" animation.. just... Let's just all agree that it looks absolutely horrible and move on.
Gameplay
From the videos the developer has uploaded on his channel we can actually get a look at the gameplay and.. it's laggy, I don't really know if it's the game itself or the developers computer, but it has massive lag.
The camera look alright, just like the office, nothing really fancy, but acceptable. There mechanics can't be seen though, so I guess that'll stay a suprise.
Conclusion
The game seems to rip of mutiple things (these are not accusations but rather simularities I noticed and decided to point out), it has nightmare styled animatronics which was an unique concept introduced with "Insanity", but doesn't make sense in this scenary. The other, more obvious thing, is it definitely ripping of the name from the fairly popular "Dormitabis", both names are latin words which roughly translate to "Sleep". This is extremely disrespectful to everyone who is working on Dormitabis and should not be tolerated by the community.
The other big thing is the developer making pages for new games, while leaving the old ones unfinished, probably forever.
I doubt that this or Somnus 2 will ever be finished and even if they will, they will end up being ordinary fangame #23545 because it doesn't have any twist to it, just the ordinary "Stay up 5 nights at some pizzeria with a defense mechanic", it doesn't matter how original this defense mechanic is, it is still not special, it just has no twist, nothing that differences it from other fangames, if I want a ordinary fangame then I can just go and look on the #FNaF tag for some ordinary game, the first page however, should be reserved for good games, games, that change how FNaF plays, not just another FNaF clone with a slightly altered defense mechanic and slightly altered animatronics.
After watching the newest gameplay video I lost all hope I ever had for this game.
you kidding me? you didn't even make the first one and you are already working on a second one?
This game will include characters, and gameplay that may frighten the player or the viewers, we advise you to wear headphones when playing
Makes sense
For every follower this gets, a Puppy is shot in the head with a 50 .cal Sniper Rifle.
Currently the models are getting "upgraded" so keep on the look out you explorers
The year is 2023.
A group of Fazbear Entertainment enthusiasts, old employees, engineers, and a few investors have decided to revive the old pizzeria chain under a new name: Daniel and Friends. With new characters, new attractions, and a new location, they hoped they could bring back their childhood memories without keeping their tainted name. After struggling to find a way to combine the old Fazbear feeling with newer, updated technology, they developed the perfect medium: the "Explorers."
These characters can behave exactly as humans do, and seem to be perfect companions for the children. The location opened with no problems, and the kids love it.
But with new technology comes experimentation.
The engineers at Daniel's didn't immediately get the Explorers working, no, not at all. There were tests. Many, many tests. These test characters had no names, they were referred to by numbers. And when they didn't work, they were thrown away. Again, and again, and again.
So yes, Daniel's opened with no problems, and the kids love it. The adults do too. But they forgot one thing. These tests, they still have the same technology that the explorers do. They can see like they do. They can think like they do. They can feel like they do.
And they're angry.
